FARMING

INHO children and youth convene every day, before and after school

INHO Farming

We have a goat farm. INHO children and youth convene every day, before and after school. One group goes to the farm in the morning and the other group goes there in the afternoon. They feed and walk the goats. The afternoon group brings the goats to the place where they will stay for the night. Through this activity, children and youth learn about

  • Responsibility (daily care of animals)
  • Animal needs (shelter, food)
  • Safety skills (learn to protect themselves, the animals, & the farm)
  • Life skills (communicating with others for a common goal; problem solving)

Goats and cattle are the most common livestock in Haiti

There are smaller number of pigs and horses
